Natasha “Mack” Davis is easily an inspiration to the Toronto music scene. From slinging an arsenal of raw hard hitting lyrics to co-writing the song “Hearts Don’t Work” for the stage production “How Black Mothers Say I Love You” by Trey Anthony. (Trey is also the creator of the hit tv series “Da Kink In My Hair“.) Mack Davis is letting the world know that she is making a home for herself here in the entertainment game.
Over the weekend myself along with a privilege handful of fans and followers were welcomed to the East Room downtown Toronto for a listening experience with the one and only Mack Davis. This is where the night of bliss began, from the trendy artisic venue to the chill vibe of the steadily growing crowd, our host along with her female only Dj lineup had us in a trance like state. It’s not surprising at all when you factor in the type of artist Mack Davis is, you can see just by her support base that she comes from good stock.
Throughout the evening we got to hear samples of her new EP Over The Influence, from the first song Issues right to Settle Down, Mack’s lyrics take you to a space in time that most can relate to in one way or another. Such a beautiful soulful voice mixed with passionately penetrating lyrics, it creates the kinda vibe you can workout too or work your love one out too. However you decide to take her in you’ll be sure to enjoy the poetic storytelling style that is Mack Davis.
We’ll leave you with the link to her EP so you can take a listen for yourself if you don’t already have in on your playlist.
