GOOD NEIGHBOR – Clothing Boutique and Lots More

As a residence of the east end, I have to brag about this cute little shop. Everyone is always talking about these great boutiques in the west like, for instance, The Drake General store. Well, if you’re a fan of the Drake, then you have to make it down to Good Neighbour.

Good Neighbour is Leslieville’s “cool hunter” as they call themselves And they’re right. This cute little store is nestled in a refurbished house – how east-end of them. Like their affiliated store, the Drake General, they sell a little bit of everything too. Like a convenience store but with cool items. They have the coolest collection of designer denim, sneakers, sandals, pillows, bags, cosmetics, hats, mugs – seriously everything to make your outfit look a little cooler and your house look a little more “pinterest-y.”

From hand stitched pillows and Hershel backpacks to unique cards and hand-made jewellery, the Good Neighbour carries a lot of local brands, keeping with the whole inclusive feel. In the women’s department, great denim brands like Mother and Citizen’s of Humanity are paired with preppy, modern, and trendy shirts, tanks, tees and sweaters. Need shoes? They carry all kinds of trending sneaker brands like Adidas and New Balance. Seriously, this place is a gem amongst the Leslieville community. Good Neighbour really is a ‘good neighbour’, featuring the employees of local shops, designers, salons and restaurants on their social media. They are very proud of their community and love to show it. This only adds to their appeal, don’t you think?

From my research, this shop was apparently the former production facility for Degrassi. Upstairs, in what was formerly the show’s show-runners’ offices, is the men’s section also filled with locally-produced pieces including brands like 18 Waits’ and designer denim like Nudie Jeans and Levi’s. The men’s section also has plenty of soaps and “apothecary” products.

Good Neighbour has brought all the best from the west side to the east but with more of a family vibe – as they also carry children’s clothes and accessories! They have an entire wall full of books, toys, shoes, bags and so much more all for those little munchkins. In a neighbourhood full of families, Good Neighbour offers a place for parents to shop fashionable brands for them and their kids.

This week they’re all about shopping for Father’s Day. Follow them on social media for only the best suggestions for your dad. They’re featuring only the best – crisp Naked and Famous button downs, military – inspired Randolph sunglasses, rugged Red Wing Shoe Co. footwear. For all the ladies shopping for their dads, feel free to get distracted for a little something for you, perhaps a new pair of Karen Walker sunglasses to go with your L Space swimsuit.
